Snow Day

It's 11:46 am EST and this is how it looks out my living room window...

...so this is where I'll be spending the rest of the day!

There must be two feet of snow on the ground already (fresh snow and old snow combined), the snow piles in the parking lot are starting to get ominous because they are so high.  I am so over snow and winter and am promising not to b*tch this summer when the 100 degree temps and humidity sets in.

I will be in the sewing cave until they dig me out!

...as always more later!

  1. There's no day like a snow day for a sew day! Enjoy your sewing cave today.

  2. Love the glimpses of the painted herringbone. The waist tabs look fabulous! Why is the wool and leather dress back in the cave? Does it need fixin'?

Hope you stay warm and dry! At least you have power - ours went out just as I got out of the shower this morning - so no hair drying, no makeup and I literally got dressed in the dark!! :) g

    1. Gay ~ I brought it downstairs to iron to wear to work and changed my mind. Left it hanging on the fabric wall.

  3. Me too! I've got a pair if pants I've been battling with in my sewing room... Maybe it's a sign to go in and figure out how to get them to fit right!

  5. I am in chicago - calm for now just cold - so hang in there and use this snow day as a SEW day. I am wishing I were you in my sewing cave.

So I will visit tomorrow to see what you have created. Have fun and enjoy

  8. I can't even begin to imagine your winter. At least you have a great home hobby! Imagine if your hobby was shopping??

  9. Strangely enough - up here in Canada - at least my part - I don't have nearly that much snow. So weird. Enjoy the cave time.

  10. I've been sequestered two days down here in Georgia. No snow this time, but rather a serious threat of ice. It's beginning to thaw now. But I did get to work on my current coat project two days. Hope you enjoyed your day off.

  11. That's a pretty condo complex you live in. I think I've said that before. We have about 14" on the ground - 4 inches new today. Half the neighborhood is in my yard, sledding down the hill. I have the hot chocolate running full blast. Enjoy your cave time; maybe it will be a super long weekend!

  14. I actually miss having some snow! In any case it's a good excuse to sew. On my corner of the world I am stuck at home despite a warm and sunny day!

  17. Looks like your sewing room would be the perfect cosy place to be in such weather! We barely get frost here in Sydney so I can't even imagine what it's like to live through that

  18. Stay safe and warm - enjoy your found sewing day! While I am *SICK* of winter here, I would LOVE a day to stay home and sew :) Can't wait to see your next project.

  19. That's about what it looks like outside my window too but I am not as busy as you are. I really must get myself in gear and get busy. There is really no place for the snow to go now, and the city (Philly) is worried about flooding from all the blocked storm drains. At least when I lived in Maine, I was four houses from the bay and the city would send front end loaders to push the snow down the street into the bay. We were limited on the type of ice melt products we could use, so as not to pollute the bay. Stay warm and cozy.
